What's up with the Halifax Real Estate Market

What's up with the Halifax Real Estate Market? 2021 was truly a year like no other - I asked "how much did it sell for?" and "how many offers?" a lot! Inventory was, and still is, at an all-time low, and prices have never been higher. Last year was an extremely competitive market for buyers, while a very profitable one for sellers.

We are definitely in unprecedented times, with just under 180 active listings for single-family homes and condos combined; by comparison, before the pandemic, it was common to have 2,100-2,300 active listings for buyers to view. Add in a very strong demand across the market, and these combined pressures resulted in price increases of nearly 30% for both single-family homes and condos in 2021. With the current limited inventory, combined with continued strong demand from potential buyers, I see no end in sight to these large increases in market values in 2022.

But enough about this market. On a personal note, I am so grateful to have had the pleasure of working with all of you over the years. I enjoy the frantic buying and selling process that allows me to interact with you every day, and closing days are bittersweet for me, as I know I won't see you again for a while. Thank you for trusting me with your real estate needs, I take that responsibility very seriously, and I feel honored to work with you.
